The Depositors’ and Investors’ Guarantee Fund has received several claims from depositors of Kaupthing Edge Germany where accrued interest in relation to the deposits is claimed.

Kaupthing Bank had sufficient funds to repay all deposits to depositors of Kaupthing Edge Germany and according to information which the Depositors’ and Investors’ Guarantee Fund has received repayment to these depositors is nearly concluded.

As deposits of depositors of Kaupthing Edge Germany were repaid by Kaupthing Bank the Depositors’ and Investors’ Guarantee Fund does not consider the Fund to be responsible for claims from these depositors. Accordingly, the Depositors’ and Investors’ Guarantee Fund does not consider valid claims, in respect of these deposits, to have arisen under Act No. 98/1999 on Deposit Guarantees and Investor-Compensation Scheme.

If depositors of Kaupthing Edge Germany consider themselves to have a claim for a greater amount than the amount which Kaupthing Bank has repaid any such claims should be made against Kaupthing Bank.
